Coronavirus - Covid-19
LATEST INFORMATION (updated 18/01/2021)
Staff from our GP surgery are working hard to deliver as many COVID vaccines as possible currently. They are all committed to vaccinating people who are within the priority groups and have been invited to book an appointment as the rollout of the biggest immunisation programme in history continues. This is a huge undertaking.
We would ask that you bear this in mind when contacting your GP surgery. Alternative ways you can seek medical advice and treatment include the NHS website, and your community pharmacy, who can offer expert information and provide medication for many conditions.
We continue to be available for urgent appointments for such things as pneumonia, high fever and appendicitis. If your condition is life-threatening always call 999. For urgent but not life-threatening you can always contact 111, if your usual GP is not available.
You have an important part to play in helping us deliver the COVID vaccine to the priority groups:
- please don’t contact the NHS to seek a vaccine, we will contact you;
- when we do contact you, please attend your booked appointments;
· and please continue to follow all the guidance to control the virus and save lives.
Please still attend for your appointments, unless you have been instructed otherwise.
The Practice continues to implement a telephone "triage" system. If you need to book an appointment please contact the Practice on 01872 272272 where you will be put through to one of our patient advisors. You will be asked about the reason for your visit and will receive a telephone call from a doctor. If you need to telephone the Practice for a non-urgent matter that does not require an appointment, please be aware that the telephone system is usually less busy in the afternoons. Alternatively, use the eConsult facility (link above).
We continue to see a number of patients at the Practice. Please remember to wear a face covering e.g. a scarf or protective face mask when attending for your appointment. Please do not arrive early for your appointment and limit the number of people in the building by coming on your own (or with one other person if necessary). If you are attending with a child, we would be grateful if only one parent / guardian attends.
We continue to assess the safest way to provide our services to patients and thank you for your patience. Please check back here regularly. For other useful links, including general information about Coronavirus or the latest advice from the Government, visit our webpage: Coronavirus - useful links
Please remember - do not attend the Practice in person unless you have spoken to a doctor or a member of the Practice staff.
Message to patients:
On behalf of all the partners at Three Spires I would like to thank you for adapting to the changes that we have introduced in response to the Covid-19 virus. The use of NHS online, 111, telephone triage, video consultations and e-Consult (available via our website) have enabled us to protect our more vulnerable patients and also the wellbeing of our staff, many of whom are working from home. There are numerous resources and links on the NHS and Three Spires websites, we encourage everyone to use these where possible so that the doctors and nurses time can be reserved for the unwell.
Dr Matt Bull

FRIENDS AND FAMILY TEST
From the 1st December 2014 all GP practices are required to ask patients the Friends & Family test questions that will be monitored by NHS England on a monthly basis. The two questions are as follows:
How likely are you to recommend our GP Surgery to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?
Can you tell us why you gave that response?
Please let us know how we are doing and answer these questions by clicking on the 'Have Your Say - Friends & Family Survey' tab at the right of the page.
For urgent care when the Surgery is closed, please dial 111 to speak to NHS 111. If your call is an emergency, please call 999.

NHS England requires that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the Practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the Practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other Practice.
The average pay for GPs working in The Three Spires Medical Practice in the last financial year was £74,401 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 8 GPs and 8 GP assistants who worked in the Practice for more than six months.
